It’s a small world after all…

I have been doing some research for a product idea I have. One of the requirements that I have is a really small track ball. Well I didn’t think one existed that was small enough until I happened to find the Panasonic Jog-ball. I persisted until I got my hands on one to look at and evaluate. How on earth do they manufacture things so small.

After talking to a panasonic engineer, I found out the new Apple “mighty mouse” uses the same part.

All I need for my idea is 4 Panasonic Hall IC chips, anyone out there have a lead to where I might find those?

Now… if I can only learn to solder with a very small iron ;-)
